If you have seen the new visual album by Beyoncé, Black is King, then, you have definitely caught a glimpse of the royalty that is seven-year-old Nigerian actor, Folajomi “FJ” Akinmurele.
The talented young man actually made his acting debut in Beyonce’s “Spirit” music video, from The Gift Album. Impressed by his performance and talent, Queen B cast him again, this time as the lead, starring opposite of the mega star herself.
In his free time, FJ is a regular kid that loves to do the same things that kids his age like to do. He loves sports, especially basketball; he also enjoys video games, art, swimming, singing and outdoor fun.
Black is King, premiered on Disney+ at midnight, July 31st. Black Is King serves as a visual companion to The Lion King: The Gift, a tie-in album curated by Beyoncé for Disney’s 2019 remake of the blockbuster hit, The Lion King. The new visual album follows a young king’s journey, portrayed by FJ, through betrayal, love, and self-identity, and of course, with the help of his ancestors guiding him along the way.
We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this amazing young rising star. It is without a doubt going to be bright as he has already gotten the queen herself’s seal of approval.
