Willow Smith wears many hats: actress, artist, singer, activist, and fashionista. The talented youngest child of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith has been a prominent face in many fashion campaigns across the world. Now, the latest-Smith will star in the Fall/Winter 2020 collection campaign for Japanese fashion brand, Onitsuka Tiger.

“With awareness of what’s going on in our world today, the environment we live in, and the planet we have to take care of. In this campaign, we expressed Willow’s natural beauty and strength as well as her love for the Earth which oozed from the bottom of her soul,” Andrea Pompilio, the Creative Director of Onitsuka Tiger, said in a statement about the new campaign.

Onitsuka Tiger is a lifestyle brand that fuses Japanese culture with mod designs. Smith being a fresh face for the brand, proves that they are taking diversity in the right direction.

“I immediately connected with Onitsuka Tiger’s vision for their new campaign. I loved that we were able to align both of our energies and create something that promotes a positive existence in this world,” commented Smith on her partnership with Onitsuka Tiger . “I’m excited for the future of the brand.”

In light of social outrage against police brutality and calls for racial equality, the fashion industry responded in support of change by donating to Black Lives Matter movements, in addition to paying homage to the influence of the Black community on all levels of the fashion industry for design to the runway and beyond. Onitsuka Tiger has also joined in support of the Black Lives Matter movements and will donate a portion of their sales proceeds from this campaign to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
