"You're Always Going To Be In My Life"

Ne-Yo’s wife, Crystal Smith, and his ex, Monyetta Shaw, are ready to talk about everything from co-parenting to getting through the rough spots. The celebrity moms recently sat down to give the inside scoop exclusively to their social media fans.

“One thing, I mean as the world knows, when me and my husband was going through it, one thing I never did was cry in front of my children, or talk about it in front of my children,” Crystal Smith said during her Live chat with Monyetta. “So they didn’t know anything, it was like nothing ever happened,” the celebrity mom said.

Crystal Smith filed for divorce from Ne-Yo at the beginning of this year. The news came as a shock to many as Ne-Yo had shared an Instagram post that praised his wife while giving an indication of a strong relationship weeks prior. Crystal never gave any notion of marital difficulties in the public eye.

“I made that a point because how [my kids] feel about their mother and father’s relationship is very important,” Smith told Shaw. “You just gotta, go in the closet and cry, get in the shower, do what you gotta do to get your stuff out, but don’t let your children see that, and that’s good parenting.”

Monyetta Shaw, who has written a book about parenting, praise Crystal Smith for her commitment to providing a stable environment for the kids during challenging times.

The marriage between Crystal Smith and Ne-Yo may be at its end. Such dissolution, however, does not impact how Monyetta Shaw feels about her friend. “Regardless, you’re always going to be in my life so you’re my baby momma,” Shaw said to Smith during the Live session.

“No matter what, our kids have the best bond,” Monyetta continued. “So for me, the relationship between you and I is important. The underlying thing is, genuinely getting along and being friends.”

Monyetta Shaw has two kids – Madilyn and Mason – with Ne-Yo. Crystal Smith also has two kids – Roman and Shaffer Jr. – with the producer. Stay tuned for more blended family news!
