One of the best parts of any awards show is walking the red, or in this case, orange carpet. Celebrities show off their style from top designers as paparazzi click away and fans see who can cheer the loudest. Well, this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards was a little different due to Covid-19. As a result of the pandemic, the show had to go virtual and so did the orange carpet experience. But, not without a little twist.
Ten-year-old actress and singer, Alyssa Cheatham took her viewing party/orange carpet virtual experience to the next level by using it to, not only celebrate one of the biggest award shows of the year, but to also raise funds for No Kid Hungry. The talented preteen posted on Instagram, “For every like this post receives, American Dream will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry @nokidhungry-a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America. So, let’s have fun and change the world, too!”
And that she did. Not only did @djsophiarocks kick-off the Zoom pre-party, celebs walked the KCA orange carpet live on Instagram. Celebrities who strutted their stuff for the camera included: Kayden Grace Swan, Jufu, Jayln Hall, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Jayden Rey, Sanai Victoria, Ryan Buggle, DJ Sophia, Leah Janvier, Jordyn Curet, Jakari Fraser, and many many others.
If you remember Cheatham starred opposite Will Smith in Collateral Beauty. To date, the young rising star has filmed 11 movies, with several airing on Netflix. Later this year, the preteen will have two animated series making their way to the television screen, but that’s not all. In addition to her new acting projects, Cheatham will soon be dropping new music and we cannot wait to hear! Stay tuned because we have a feeling that we are going to hear a lot more from this truly talented rising star for many any years to come!
