Looks like congratulations are in order for NBA star John Wall of the Washington Wizards, who recently announced that he is expecting his second son.
John Wall, who already had his 15-month-old son Ace Wall with his girlfriend Shante, joined former NBA stars Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on the April 30 episode of SHOWTIME Basketball’s podcast “All The Smoke” to share the news. Barnes and Jackson congratulated Wall on his second child, and then Wall confirmed that he was indeed expecting a boy.
Though John Wall did not share many details about his next child, he had a hilarious response about his plans to not have any more kids when asked by Barnes if he was going to try for a girl. “I’m straight now, I’m straight y’all I ain’t tripping,” laughed Wall. “If I keep trying to shoot for another one, I might be six or seven in. I ain’t trying to be no Brady Bunch over here.”

The current 2019-20 NBA season was suspended on March 11, 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, which leaves John Wall more time to spend with his son Ace. In fact, Wall’s first thoughts when he first received the news of the NBA season’s suspension were of his son. Wall sought to get tested right away to make sure that there was no chance of Ace contracting the coronavirus.
“That’s all I’m thinking about and that aspect of making sure my family was straight and then worry about myself afterward,” said Wall. “Because I felt like me as a healthy athlete and young, I can fight it more than what a baby could.”

John Wall was sitting out the current season as he recovered from an Achilles injury he suffered in February 2019 and needed surgery to fix. Wall is very much looking forward to returning to the court, promising to return better than ever and that his best is yet to come.
“I’m gonna be better than what I was before, and that’s the scary part about it because damn near the whole—my five years I was an All-Star, bro, I played with two bone spurs in my knee and my heel,” said Wall. “And people don’t know that. They ain’t even get the best of John Wall yet. They just got a clip of him.”
