Jirah Mayweather, the 15-year-old daughter of legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and late reality television star Josie Harris, recently posted an emotional tribute to her deceased mother on TikTok.
In the video clip, the 2009 song “According to you” by Australian singer Orianthi plays. As the first verse of the song plays, Jirah points to a picture of her father. “According to you/ I’m stupid/ I’m useless/ I can’t do anything right.” When the second verse played, Jirah pointed to a picture with her siblings; her two older brothers 20-year-old Koraun and 19-year-old Zion and her 19-year-old stepsister Iyanna Mayweather. “According to you/ I’m difficult/ Hard to please/ Forever changing my mind/ I’m a mess in a dress/ Can’t show up on time/ Even if it would save my life.” As the next verse played, Jirah pointed to a picture of her late mother. “According to you, according to you/ But according to [him]/ I’m beautiful/ Incredible.”
Josie Harris and Floyd Mayweather dated from 1995 to 2010 and had Jirah, Zion and Koraun together. However, their relationship was rocky at best, since Harris accused Floyd of physical abuse at least six times during their relationship; including a September 2010 incident where Floyd allegedly attacked Harris at her home. Though Floyd ended up serving two months in jail for the incident, he denied the allegations. On March 10, 2020, Harris was mysteriously found dead outside her California home at the age of 40. Authorities are currently investigating her death.
On April 10, Jirah posted a tribute to her deceased mother Josie Harris on Instagram to mark one month since her untimely death. The video shows Jirah and her mother lip syncing to the song, “No Reason” by Yunggtez featuring Big Tee and Rico Nasty. In the caption, Jirah wrote: “Today marks 1 month without you ❤️ fly high beautiful 👼🏽🕊 I miss you more than words can explain 🥺.”
