If you remember a few weeks ago, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gave us a new tune to wash our hands to when he song the song, “You’re Welcome,” from the hit Disney movie, Moana to his two-year-old daughter, Tiana Gia.
Well, just like us, Tiana Gia loved her daddy’s song and cannot get enough of it, but she hasn’t quite put two-and-two together realizing that her daddy and Maui are one in the same.
The Jumanji: The Next Level star captioned a recent Instagram video, in which he sings the song again, at Tia’s request, “…for the 937th time today. She has no idea, we’re the same person…And I have no idea what day it is anymore, but I am sure it’s one that ends with Y.”
And then, The Rock, went on to offer a word of solidarity to his fans who are 24-hour parenting as we all social distance during nationwide stay-at-home orders, “To all the mama and papa bears out there going thru it — we understand. 24hr parenting. Get your sleep and cocktails when you can. #BringItOnBaby 👶🏽”
If you remember, Moana tells the story of a strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesia village who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite a mystical relic with the goddess of Te Fiti. When a blight strikes her island, Moana sets sail on the ultimate adventure in search of Maui, a legendary demigod, portrayed by The Rock, in hopes of returning the relic and saving her people. When she finds Maui, fun and song definitely ensue.
Moana became a hit for Disney and received two Academy Award nominations: one for Best Animated Feature and another for Best Original Song. If you haven’t seen this Disney classic, right now would be the perfect time to give it a view!
