Tuesday (March 31) marked the one year anniversary of Nipsey Hussle’s death. Lauren London did not let the day pass without honoring her late boyfriend.
“Time is deceptive,” Lauren began her tribute. “It’s been a year since you transitioned. The pain is as heavy today as it was a year ago.”
Nipsey Hussle was murdered outside of his clothing store, Marathon Clothing, in South Los Angeles on March 31, 2019. The rapper’s death took Hollywood by surprise as Nipsey had collaborated with John Legend and DJ Khalid to create the music video for ‘Higher’ days before his murder.
Nipsey was scheduled to meet with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to discuss ways to decrease gun violence throughout South Los Angeles. The recording artist was shot to death by a former friend before such a meeting could take place.
“God knows I would give anything to see you again,” Lauren London wrote in her tribute on Tuesday. “I didn’t think I was going to survive a second of any of this,” she admitted. “Prayers have kept me together. The kids keep me going and God’s Grace and Mercy have carried me this far.”
“As today makes a year, I stand strong because of you,” London continued. “Because I know you wouldn’t have it any other way,” the celebrity mom added. “Because I recall every late-night conversation we had about resilience and fear. Because you were my greatest teacher and because you are still with us, in spirit.”
Lauren London has a son, Kross Asghedom, with Nipsey Hussle. The late rapper also has a daughter named Emani Asghedom. Stay tuned for more celebrity family news!
