DEYJAH HARRIS TALKS MENTAL HEALTH AMIDST RELEASE OF ‘FRIENDS AND FAMILY HUSTLE’ TRAILER

"It'll All Make Sense"

T.I.’s daughter, Deyjah Harris, is ready to talk about mental health. The young adult recently took to her YouTube channel to share her experience with depression and anxiety over the years. Deyjah’s video comes in sync with the trailer for the upcoming season of T.I. and Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle.

“Depression and anxiety is something that I’ve been dealing with since the age of 11,” Deyjah said in her YouTube video. “My self-esteem started to become an issue for me in the sixth grade due to bullying,” the 18-year-old explained.

“I started to struggle to understand what it was I was feeling, and I definitely knew that I wasn’t able to express what it was that I was going through. Without the proper knowledge and support, I definitely started to turn to self-inflicted coping mechanisms that weren’t too healthy or beneficial to me or my growth.”

Deyjah Harris was at the center of controversy last year when her father shared information about her virginity that the masses believed should have remained private. The celebrity father later apologized for what ultimately became known as “Hymen-gate” during a Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett-Smith, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, and Willow Smith. Deyjah’s privacy, however, had already been invaded.

The 18-year-old thanked her social media followers for their support during the tumultuous time. Deyjah also removed herself from the platforms for a period. “After all of this, it’s changed, honestly,” the 18-year-old says in the trailer for Season 3 of T.I. and Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle.

Of course, fans will have to wait until the show’s season premiere to learn exactly what has changed in Deyjah’s life following the “Hymen-gate” fallout. For now, fans can appreciate the 18-year-old’s encouragement via Instagram.

“Remember to treat yourself warmly,” Deyjah advised in a recent post. “Eventually, every experience will get you exactly where you’re destined to be and it’ll all make sense,” the young adult said.
