“The most important piece of information I can share with you today is [that] fortunately, with this virus, very few kids get sick when they get infected,” Dr. Osterholm told Willow who was visibly concerned about the pandemic. “And of those who do get sick, they’re often mild illnesses,” he added.

“The good news is that you don’t really have to worry about this as a really big danger to you,” Dr. Osterholm went on to tell Willow. “On the other hand, to your grandparents, to your friends who are over age 55 or 60, now you need to start thinking about them. They’re the ones who are at greater risk.”

The latest strain of coronavirus has infected more than 200,000 individuals worldwide with many of those suffering from the virus being older adults. Still, there is an equal possibility for children, teens, and young adults to develop the virus and, at worst, the COVID-19 disease that has led to numerous deaths throughout the world.

“By the time this gets done, it’ll be worse than influenza,” Dr. Osterholm warned during his Red Table Talk segment. “We are beginning to slow it down in the sense that we’re starting to get people to understand it,” he added.

Dr. Osterholm’s expertise may have put the anxiety of Willow and other viewers at ease. The young adult has talked about her tendency to become overwhelmingly nervous about life events during various episodes of Red Table Talk. Willow even told her mom and grandmother at one point that she drops down to do push-ups when the tension becomes too great.

Finding ways to successfully cope with her anxiety is a significant reason why Willow Smith decided to shave her head earlier this month. The young adult asked her boyfriend, Tyler Cole, to do the honors after being locked in a box with him for 24 hours for artistic purposes.

“Willow shaved her head for symbolic reason, she wants to leave the past behind,” an insider recently told Hollywood Life exclusively. “She’s had her struggles with anxiety but she’s feeling very empowered and ready to reclaim her life. Shaving off all her hair was a way to release everything and start fresh.”
