Singer Keyshia Cole and her estranged husband, Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, reunited for their son’s tenth birthday this past weekend. Keyshia’s boyfriend, Niko Khale, was also in attendance at the event along with Boobie’s girlfriend.
Keyshia took to Instagram on her son’s birthday to celebrate his new milestone and to also dote on Daniel Gibson Jr.’s character. “I’ve had a couple ‘Tuff times’ since you’ve been born,” the celebrity mom wrote to her son. “Throughout all my ups and downs, I must say YOU’VE made the tuff times easier to face, Knowing I’ll always have you! An AMAZING SON, with a gentle soul.”

Boobie also reflected on his son. “I still remember the first time you opened [your] eyes,” the celebrity father wrote online. “You cried wit[h] the toughest lil (sic) frown but you heard my voice and that smile couldn’t hold itself inside. No matter what else I’ve accomplished in life, there’s not another moment that [has] ever made me more proud,” Boobie said.

Keyshia Cole and her estranged husband decided to end their relationship nearly five years ago. The celebrity parents, however, maintain good relations that even led to Keyshia letting Boobie live with her in 2017. He fell on hard times and she did not have the heart to allow her son’s father to go without shelter. Boobie took full advantage of the experience by growing even closer to his son during the experience.
