It may look like Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s daughter Luna Simone is a willing photo participant on social media, but she’s actually not. Recently, in an interview with People Magazine, the supermodel revealed that the 31/2-year-old has has a price for her smile.
“She definitely hates photos, paparazzi, anything,” Teigen says of her daughter in the interview. “She does everything you see on my Instagram for a quarter or a Sour Patch Kid.”
Even though we enjoy seeing the antics of little Luna and her brother, the mother of two knows that she can and actually does take a lot of heat for posting pictures of her adorable children, opening herself up to internet trolls and mommy-shamers.
“It’s gotten better for sure,” Teigen tells People. “I would love to be able to say that it doesn’t get to me at all but you start to gain this sort of empathy for people. You understand that not necessarily everything they say comes from a bad place. Sometimes people are just trying to help, but you really never know and it’s an adventure every single time. You start to learn what you’re able to take and what you’re not able to take.”
And of course, there are those times that Teigen actually responds to shamers, with the ultimate clap-backs, but the Sports Illustrated model says that, “there’s no rhyme or reason” as to whom she responds. “Sometimes it’s just the wrong person at the wrong moment. Sometimes I’m having a bad day or a hard day with Luna. Sometimes I’m mad at John. There’s all different things that go into it. It’s just for me. It’s supposed to be in fun, in jest.”
Luna and her little brother Miles both have upcoming birthdays in the spring. We wonder whether the budding entrepreneur Luna will pass on her secrets to photography or keep the loot and game all to herself. Either way, we cannot get enough of those two smiling faces, so here’s hoping that Teigen and Legend stock up on quarters and sour patch kids for years to come.
