LEBRON JAMES PENS CHILDREN’S BOOK CALLED ‘I PROMISE’

"I Can't Wait For People To Read It"

LeBron James has written a children’s book, called I Promise, which is meant to inspire kids across the nation. The publication follows the Los Angeles Lakers player’s school, also named I Promise, which carries the goal of helping children be the best versions of themselves.

“Books have the ability to teach, inspire, and bring people together,” LeBron James said in a press release concerning his new book. “That’s why these books, and the opportunity to get children and parents reading together, mean so much to me,” the star athlete added.

“Most importantly, we wanted to make sure these stories are ones that every single kid can see themselves in. ‘I PROMISE’ is powerful in that way, and I can’t wait for people to read it.”

LeBron James opened I Promise School (IPS) in 2018 to serve elementary school children in Akron, Ohio. The school is open to all who wish to apply but is specially created for at-risk youth. James through his foundation, The LeBron James Foundation, guarantees free college tuition for all those accepted to IPS. The star athlete also added housing to his package for students, which makes I Promise that much more desirable.

LeBron took to Instagram on Tuesday (February 18) to celebrate the impending debut of his book. “Our own children’s book,” the celebrity exclaimed. “The beauty of this is the process in how we got here,” James added.

“Never settling no matter the opportunities or chapters we add to this journey and now we get to share our promise and our story with kids and families everywhere. I can’t wait for everyone to read this, share this, feel empowered, and strive for greatness the same way my kids from Akron do every day.”
