Seventeen-year-old Shelby Simmons is definitely one young rising star that you must put on your radar.
It seems as if acting has always been in her blood as growing up she loved to bring characters to life on stage in her school plays. Her favorite-princess Fiona from Shrek. After moving to Los Angeles, Simmons soon began to enjoy a range of recurring and guest starring roles on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel hits such as Game Shakers, Andi Mack, and School of Rock.
Honing in on her love of comedy, the talented teen landed a lead role on the Netflix show, Prince of Peoria. However, Simmons’ star didn’t stop there and continues to rise.
Recently, it was announced that Simmons will have the opportunity to be a part of an upcoming Disney film, that happens to be based on her favorite novel, Stargirl.
The book, by Jerry Spinelli, explores the tense emotions of teens in a high school coming-of-age drama directed by Julia Hart. The movie will also star Grace VanderWaal and Graham Verchere. In the film, Simmons plays “Hillari Kimble”, a mean girl who bullies others to escape her own trauma.
When she is not working, Simmons loves to play sports. She excels in softball and plays outfield on a champion softball team. Simmons is also an animal lover and adores being home with her fabulous dog Daisy & her magical white rabbit Luenell.
