Vanessa Bryant continues to mourn the death of her 13-year-old daughter, Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26 alongside her father Kobe Bryant.
On Wednesday, Vanessa,37, posted photos and video clips from Gianna’s school Jersey retirement ceremony. In one snap, heart-shaped balloons can be seen placed alongside a table of flower arrangement that reads “Gianna.” The set up also featured a floral display of the number 2, which was the basketball Jersey number that Gianna wore while she played for Mamba Sports Academy.
“My Gianna. God I miss you,” Vanessa wrote. “I’ve been so lucky to have woken up to see your gorgeous face and amazing smile for 13 years. Wish it would’ve been until my last breath. Mommy loves you to the moon and back. Infinity plus 1. #2 #Mambacita #GigiBryant .”
The mother of four followed up her post with several Instagram videos from the retirement ceremony. “Gianna Bryant Jersey Retirement,” she captioned the clips, which showed school officials and students sharing stories about the late teenager.
It was recently revealed that the bodies of Gianna and Kobe, and the seven friends who died alongside them, have been released to their families.
NY Post reports, “The nine aboard the Sikorsky S-76B that crashed in thick fog in Calabasas on Jan. 26 all died of blunt force trauma, including 50-year-old pilot Ara Zobayan, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has ruled. Now all nine bodies have been released to their families while the National Transportation Safety Board continues to investigate the fiery crash, the coroner’s office confirmed to The Post.”
