Matt Barnes and Anansa Sims celebrated their son Ashton Joseph Barnes’ birthday this past weekend with a party to remember.
Little Ashton started the party in semi-formal wear. The festivities ended, however, with the youngster dressed in blue and tearing through a cake made especially for him. “My lil man is 1,” Matt exclaimed online.
Barnes further doted on his son with Anansa Sims. “[I] can’t believe it’s been a year already,” the celebrity father exclaimed. “Happy Bday to my young prince Ashton Joseph,” he continued. “@anansasims, thank[s] for helping ‘ME’ make such a beautiful lil boy.”
Anansa Sims also took to Instagram to celebrate her and Matt Barnes’ son on the little one’s birthday. The model reflected on her pregnancy when commemorating Ashton’s special day.
“I’m feeling so blessed to look back on all these beautiful moments when he was growing inside of me,” Sims told her social media fans. “Seeing our Family and close Friends celebrating our Love makes me smile, cry, and laugh,” the celebrity mom concluded.
Matt Barnes and Anansa Sims welcomed their son on December 7, 2018. News of Ashton’s expectancy came one year after Anansa’s divorce from her husband of seven years, David Patterson, became final. There was a bit of criticism surrounding Annansa and Matt’s relationship because of her divorce and his ongoing child custody case with the mother of his children, Gloria Govan.
Matt and Gloria, however, recently settled their child custody woes in court. According to The Blast,
“Govan and Barnes will share legal and physical custody of their twin sons, Isaiah and Carter. The boys will alternate weeks with each parent and the custody schedule lays out where the boys will spend various holidays.
The boys will stay at their current private school (Matt will foot the bill for the that) for the 2019/20 school year and then go to public school the year after. Once they finish middle school, the kids will go to Sierra Canyon High School (where LeBron James’ sons go) and Barnes and Govan will split the bill for that 50/50.”
Ashton is Matt and Anansa’s only child together. Matt Barnes has two sons, Carter and Isaiah, with Gloria Govan. Anansa Sims has three kids with her ex-husband. Stay tuned for more celebrity family news!
