Faithe Herman has captured the hearts of millions as fan-favorite Annie Pearson on the NBC’s hit show This is Us. The amazing young actress is positioning herself as a major Young Hollywood contender as she has been recognized for her craft and has received numerous accolades including two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama.

However, Herman is a fan-favorite on the small screen, but she is no stranger to the big screen as well. The talented young rising star gained critically acclaimed praise for her role as Darla Dudley in the Warner Brother/DC Extended Universe movie, Shazam.

BCKOnline had the opportunity to sit down for an one-on-one interview with Herman. Check out her answers to our exclusive Q&A below.

1. What made you want to start acting?

I started getting into acting when my sisters and I started doing background work. Eventually my 2 oldest sisters stopped and my mom had me and my sister Ceymone doing it. Then my mom found us and agent, Ceymone stopped and I was left. The pilot for This Is Us was my first big theatrical audition.

2. What is the most difficult thing about being an actress?

One of the difficult things about being an actress at my age self-discipline and knowing there is certain things I may miss out on because of work. I’m 11, so I have now started doing what adults do, work. But I love what I do and feel very blessed.

3. What is the most exciting thing about your character on “This is Us”?

I think just being the youngest. Annie observes the rest of the family.

4. How similar are you to your character? How different?

I think like Annie, I have a tendency to point out the obvious. She says a lot of funny things. I love Annie’s sense of fashion. How am I different from Annie? That one is a little hard because there’s still more I have to learn about Annie.

5. What would your dream on screen collaboration be and with whom?

My dream on-screen collaboration would be to work with Mr. Will Smith. I watch his TiK Tok’s and he is hilarious. I’d want to do a fun comedy movie with him.

6. How do you balance work and school?

I balance work and school with the help of my parents, school counselor, teachers and studio teacher to name a few. It is a lot of constant communication with everyone. I have to make sure that I always talk with my teachers because I have seven of them.

7. Apart from acting, what other things do you like to do?

I like to bake with my big sister Esence. Spend time with my family. I also love art, painting, drawing and writing.

8. What do you hope that the future holds for Faithe Herman?

What I hope for the future for Faithe Herman, is to continue to do great in school and continue to pursue acting. If acting does not work out I’d like to be a nurse or an author.
