Ciara, Russell Wilson, and the kids spread a bit of charity at the Suncadia Resort this past Monday (June 24). The celebrity family hosted the 2019 Wilson Celebrity Invitational at the resort, which benefitted the Strong Against Foundation.
Ciara performed at the charity event that brought out all of the courageous souls who have battled with and are currently winning the fight against cancer. One survivor especially impacted Ciara. “Rorick, you inspire us all,” the ‘Beauty Marks’ singer said of a 14-year-old survivor of brain cancer who was in his second year of remission.
“Rorick was diagnosed with Brain Cancer when he was 12, and is now cancer free at 14 years old,” Ciara told her Instagram fans. “It touches my heart to hear him talk about his scar from treatment, and the positivity he can see in it. I call it his Beauty Mark. Thanks for being a beacon of hope for us all, angel. We’re so proud of you!”
Russell Wilson and the kids, Sienna and Future Zahir, also participated in the charity event through golf. The NFL player along with his stepson and daughter were joined by others who were happy to bid high and support the mission of spreading hope to those battling cancer.
The Strong Against Foundation expressed gratitude for all of the love and positive vibes given by the Wilsons, their Why Not You? Foundation, and others who attended Monday’s charity event.
“We just scored a hole-in-one in the fight against childhood cancer,” the non-profit shared with its Instagram followers on Tuesday (June 25). “Yesterday, our team captain Russell Wilson kicked off the Wilson Celebrity Invitational at Swiftwater at Suncadia Resort. Along with golfing, guests participated in an auction and music experience.
