Congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the arrival of their son. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child on Monday (May 6).
Prince Harry was one of the first to greet his son as he was by Meghan’s side during her labor and delivery experience. The newest member of the royal family reportedly weighed seven pounds and three ounces at birth.

“I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy,” Prince Harry said from Windsor shortly after his wife gave birth. “It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine,” he added. “This little thing is absolutely to die for.”

The Duke of Sussex has expressed his desire to have children in several interviews. Prince Harry told Katie Couric in 2012 that having kids in the near future was a matter of finding “someone who’s willing to take on the job” of being his wife. The Duke of Sussex further shared his hope of having a family during an interview with Good Morning America in 2016.
“I hope [my mum is] looking down, you know, with tears in her eyes, being incredibly proud of what we’ve established,” Prince Harry said. “I’m sure she’s longing for me to have kids so she can be a grandmother again. … I can’t wait for the day…it will be fantastic,” he added. “I adore kids. I enjoy everything that they bring to the party. They just say what they think.”
