“It’s wonderful,” Porsha says of motherhood. The celebrity mom loves everything about her newborn daughter, Pilar Jhena McKinley, but went through a bit of a struggle when it came to nursing her baby.

“It didn’t work out for me,” Porsha says of her attempts to breastfeed baby Pilar. “I couldn’t get enough milk,” the RHOA star adds. “I just was one-ouncing it out and I was like, ‘Okay, this is not working.’ For me, when I got pregnant, my sister is like all about breastfeeding. And so I really was like, ‘Eh, I can do it or not. It ain’t a big deal to me.'”

Things became more intense after Pilar was born. “Once you have the baby, and you see the baby, it’s like, ‘I want to give you everything that is good for you. And if you can get it [directly] from me, even better,'” Porsha says of her change in perspective. “I became obsessed with [the notion of breastfeeding]. I was texting all the [women from Real Housewives of Atlanta] and Kandi was like, ‘Listen, at the end of the day, if it doesn’t work out, if she ends up on formula, she will be alright. You’re still a good mom.’ She helped me over that hump because it was like really emotional for me.”

So why didn’t Porsha Williams just change her diet so that she could produce more milk? Things were not that easy, according to the Reality TV star.

“I tried everything,” Porsha reveals. “I had three different lactation consultants in the hospital. I had one come to my house. And my baby started dropping weight,” she adds. “When the doctor told me she was dropping weight and they still encouraged me to [breastfeed], I was like, ‘I can’t do my baby like that.’ So I just cried it out and ended up putting her on formula. And now her weight came back up. She’s eight pounds and ten ounces.”

Within a year’s time, Porsha has gone from being a single woman in Atlanta to a mom and soon-to-be wife. So how did all of this come about?

“For me, in Atlanta, dating just freaking sucked,” Porsha shares. “I just wasn’t vibing with nobody,” the RHOA star adds. “I had just told my mom, I was like, ‘Mom, I’m done. I’m just going to enjoy my career. I’m going to enjoy my friends and family. I’m not worrying about a dude.'”

Porsha told her mom that she would only give intimacy another change if she found the right man with the right chemistry. And then, Dennis McKinley came along.

“We went to lunch and I was like, ‘This is the vibe,'” Porsha tells The Breakfast Club. “We vibed,” Williams says. “We stayed together that whole day and night. We were together like glue.”

The bond has strengthened over time. Porsha Williams and Dennis McKinley are planning to get married on New Year’s Eve 2019.

“Dennis wants to do a destination wedding. I’m from Georgia, and all of my family is here. So I want to do it here [in Georgia]. So we probably got to figure that out.”
