Singer Monica and Shannon Brown are allegedly calling it quits. The ‘Angel Of Mine’ singer filed for divorce from her husband earlier this month.

According to TMZ,

“Monica’s officially calling it quits with her ex-NBA baller husband, Shannon Brown … she’s filed for divorce.

The singer filed the paperwork earlier this month in Atlanta. Monica and Shannon have a 5-year-old daughter named Laiyah together, and she has 2 sons from a previous relationship with rapper Rocko.”

Rumors of Monica and Shannon Brown being separated spread last year but were quickly squashed after Monica shared a picture of her with her husband. The ‘U Should’ve Know’ singer, however, has not posted many pictures of her with her husband since then and has even taken a few candids without her wedding ring.

Monica and Shannon Brown wed in 2010 and share a daughter, Laiyah Brown, together. Monica delved into how she met her husband during a 2016 interview with Necole.

“When he and I met, it wasn’t long before we got married,” the singer revealed. “He told me the day we met that I’m (sic) going to be his wife. We met at my video shoot for ‘Love All Over Me’, he was the leading man. “They had won the championship the week before so the girl that was working for me said ‘You need Shannon Brown’ and when I saw him I was like, ‘D*mn, that’s like a big, fine version of Chris Brown. Wow, like we just super-sized [Chris Brown] and put like 15 1/2 feet extra on him [laughs].’ So when we met, it was [an] instantaneous connection.”

Monica has two sons, Romelo Hill and Rodney Hill Jr., in addition to her daughter with Shannon Brown.
