DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was welcomed by his fiancée Desiree Lindstrom and their son Exodus Simmons upon getting released from federal prison. The rapper was released from Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution in West Virginia on Friday morning, according to TMZ.
In 2017, Simmons was arrested for tax evasion after federal prosecutors in New York say he hid millions in income from the IRS and avoided paying $1.7 million in existing tax liabilities.
“While raking in millions from his songs, including his 2003 hit ‘X Gon’ Give it to Ya,’ DMX didn’t give any of it to the IRS,” Acting U.S. Attorney Joon H. Kim said in a statement at the time.
DMX, who is planning on dropping a new album soon, has 15 kids in total. He welcomed his 15th child with his fiancée in 2016.
