Sherri Shepherd is grateful for her son, Jeffrey Charles Tarpley, who is a perfect ten in his own right. The celebrity mom tells PEOPLE that her son is incomparable.
“He’s got developmental delays,” Sherri admits. “I know that God created this little boy, who’s so yummy and special, and I have to accept him just in his little imperfect perfections,” the celebrity mom continues. “He’s perfectly imperfect in every way.”
Jeffrey Tarpley was born thirteen years ago. Although originally deemed a child with special needs, Jeffrey has not let his disabilities keep him from doing the things that he loves.
“I love him no matter what, and I don’t compare him to other typical children,” Sherri Shepherd tells media. “He is who he is,” the star mom adds. “I [put] him in an improv class. He gets to be silly and nerdy.”
Perhaps, Jeffrey takes after his mom in the way of comedy. “I said [to my son], ‘You’re going to be a doc?’ And he goes, ‘No, Mommy, I have to make people laugh.’ And I went, ‘He’s going to be 40 years old, living in my basement with white socks and flip-flops.’ I was not happy.”
