Michelle Obama is without a doubt an icon that has made her mark on American culture encompassing everything from parenting to nutrition and beyond. Paying homage to her “cultural hero,” eight-year-old Ella-Lorraine Brown broke the internet when a photo of her emerged dressed as Michelle Obama during her Princeton days.
For her school’s “Cultural Heroes Day,” Ella-Lorraine chose to dress up as @MichelleObama (known then Michelle Robinson) as a freshman at Princeton University and she nailed it. 👏👏👏https://t.co/4cLVDl3LXZ

“She was really in awe of the idea that with hard work you could become anything,” Brown’s mother, Karlyn Johnson Brown, who also attended Princeton, told Makers in an interview. “I loved it because by choosing to portray her hero as a college student, the focus was on Michelle’s accomplishments as an individual, not just as an attachment.”
This isn’t the first time that Brown has dressed up as one of her #blackgirlmagic heroines. Brown has dressed up as civil aviator Bessie Coleman and Ruby Bridges, the first African-American child to desegregate an elementary school in the South.
