Gabrielle Union opens up about her journey to motherhood in an interview with Oprah Winfrey titled Oprah at Home with Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade & Their New Baby
Airing Dec. 8th and 12th on OWN, the television special will delve into the new mom’s path to parenthood via surrogacy.
After announcing the Nov. 7 arrival of their daughter Kaavia James via surrogate, Dwyane Wade revealed that his wife faced backlash after they posted photos of Union in hospital scrubs holding her baby girl.

“Everyone started talking about why she acting like she just had a baby,” Wade shared.
“You want to explain that?” Oprah asked Union in a preview for the two-part OWN special.
During the interview, Gabrielle also admitted that she’s still struggling to come to terms with being unable to carry her baby herself.
The actress said, “I’m already getting choked up. It’s still hard to let go.”
The Wades wed in August 2014. This is the first child for Union and the fourth child for Wade.
