Idris Elba’s daughter, Isan Elba, has been named the 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador. The teen tells media of her reaction to receiving the honor and what she plans to do with the new platform.
“My heart stopped,” Isan says of her reaction to being crowned the 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador. “I was like, jumping and screaming and all over the house, like, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure they picked me?’ I was not even completely sure.”
Upon coming to the realization that she was indeed the ambassador of the Golden Globes, Isan began to settle into everything that the title meant. The teen, of course, had the help of her famous father to further assist in taking in her new platform.
“He told me tonight just to be cool and that this is a great honor, and that this is something I should be proud of, and I should hold myself as I’m proud of it,” Isan reveals. “So he’s really, really happy for me because I’ve never done anything like this before.”
Stardom and shock seem to be a going thing in the Elba household. It was just the other week that Idris Elba told media that he was every bit of surprised when PEOPLE magazine deemed him as one of its Sexiest Men Alive.

“I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?'” Idris said. “[I] looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise — an ego boost for sure.”
