Idris Elba has many titles these days. Not only is he one of the more popular celebrities in Hollywood, but Idris is also one of PEOPLE magazine’s most Sexiest Men Alive.
“I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?'” Idris says of his latest title as one of the most attractive men on the scene at present. “[I] looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise — an ego boost for sure.”
Another boost of confidence comes in the form of Idris Elba’s parenting. “Being witness to the birth of my children is the biggest and best thing ever,” the celebrity father says of the arrival of his daughter, Isan, sixteen years ago and his son, Winston, four years back. “I’m super doting, big hugs, kisses, lots of love-yous. I’m sure my daughter’s like, ‘All right Dad, chill out.’ My son is still at that age where he loves a cuddle.”
Idris Elba is taking full advantage of his life as both a father and actor. “Life isn’t about thinking about what you should have done,” he shares. “I think everyone should adopt the philosophy that tomorrow is not promised so just go for it today, man. You might as well do it to your heart’s content.”
