Dwyane Wade is putting his wife and daughter first! The NBA player will miss at least another week before resuming his final Heat season, telling The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that he needs time to continue bonding with his newborn daughter. Wade and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union-Wade, had the baby via a surrogate last week.
“With my daughter coming a couple weeks early, she’s a little tiny right now, so we’re making sure health-wise that she’s OK,” Wade tells media. “And for me, once I leave and go back to the season, not really being able to be with me everywhere I go, this time right now, this bonding moment with my daughter is the most important thing in my life at this time.”
Dwyane Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, welcomed their daughter a few days ago. The little one’s arrival was quite the surprise to the public who became aware of Gabrielle’s fertility struggles via her memoir, We’re Going To Need More Wine. Union revealed that she suffered eight or nine miscarriages and gave her readers the impression that had given up on having kids.
Gabrielle and Dwyane, however, simply went another way en route to family expansion and welcomed their daughter via surrogate on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. “We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate,” The Wades shared the day after their daughter’s birth. “11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days. Welcome to the party sweet girl!”
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s daughter makes her dad a father for the fourth time. Dwyane and Gabrielle’s daughter is Union’s first child. Stay tuned for more celebrity family news!
