The Allens are ready for the holidays. Ray Allen along with his wife and kids recently solicited the services of April Belle for a photo shoot that was nothing short of amazing.
The session took place on the beach, which was the perfect atmosphere for a blended family such as the Allens. Ray’s daughter followed the fashion sense of her stepmother with a beautiful gold outfit that was light-hearted yet elegant. The boys of the family matched one another as well. Ray brought a different color to the scheme with a gray suit that screamed “semi-formal, but cool.”
It was nearly two years ago that Ray Allen took fans inside his thought process with a letter to his younger self. “When you step off that school bus in South Carolina tomorrow and open your mouth, those kids are going to look at you like you’re an alien,” Ray wrote. “I wish I could tell you that it will get easier, and that you’re going to blend in, and that it’s going to be alright. But you’re not going to fit in with the white kids, or the black kids … or the nerds … or even the jocks. You’ll be the enemy to a lot of people simply because you’re not from around there.”
Not fitting into a particular clique is something that Ray would have told a younger version of himself to get used to. As Allen explained in his letter, “In order to achieve your dreams, you will become a different kind of person. You’ll become a bit obsessive about your routine. This will come at a heavy cost to some of your friends and family. … Most of the time, you will be alone.”
Loneliness comes with rewards, though, as Ray Allen’s impressive career in the NBA shows proof of hard work and diligence paying off. Stay tuned for more celebrity father news!
