Kanye and the family took a trip to Africa so that the rapper could give back to local youth in the form of free Ye sneakers and finish his forthcoming album, Yandhi. Kanye promised to release the album at the beginning of the month but decided to hold off on the debut in hopes of capturing the full essence of what he is trying to convey.

“I didn’t finish it,” Kanye told TMZ’s Harvey Levin a few weeks ago. “The album is so good,” the rapper continued. “I started incorporating sounds that you never heard before, and pushing, and having concepts that people don’t talk about. We have concepts talking about body shaming and women being looked down upon [because of] how many people they slept with. It’s just a full Ye album. Those five albums that I dropped earlier were like, ‘Superhero Rehabilitation.’ And now the Alien Ye is like fully back in mode, off of medication, working out, breathing as much fresh air as possible, thinking, doing, being himself.”

Kanye West has been under intense scrutiny these past few days because of his recent outburst in which he called for the abolition of the Thirteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution, which abolishes slavery in the country. Ye later told the press that he meant to say that the amendment should be altered and not done away with altogether. Kanye went on to visit President Trump for a luncheon that further raised eyebrows.

“I’m being me and I’m punk,” West told Levin. “And I can wear whatever I want because I’m a god,” he continued. “This is the type of energy that we’re putting into the album,” Kanye explained. “So we’re going to Africa in two weeks to record … You know, I felt this energy when I was in Chicago. I felt the roots. But we have to go to what is known as Africa. I just need to go and find out what it’s really called.”

Kanye West plans to release his upcoming album on November 23, 2018, which is also Black Friday in the United States. Stay tuned for more celebrity family news!
