RISING TENNIS STAR NAOMI OSAKA TO FACE SERENA WILLIAMS IN U.S. OPEN FINALS

"I Really Want To Play Serena"

Naomi Osaka,20, beat out the competition during the U.S. Open and is set to play Serena Williams for the championship this Saturday. “This is going to sound really bad but I was just thinking I really want to play Serena,” Osaka told the press after her victory in the semi-finals. “She’s Serena,” the rising star said when asked why she wanted to compete against Williams.

Osaka and Serena Williams have met on the court before. It was during the Miami tournament earlier this year that Osaka defeated Williams in a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Serena was still building up her stamina after giving birth to her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. “Hopefully I won’t play like that again,” Williams said of her performance that day.
