“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Chris said before the event. The celebrity father also told media that his son, Chris Paul II, and daughter, Camryn Alexis, encouraged him to host this year’s Sports awards. “They help with the trade situation and where we go, but this is probably the first executive decision they’ve made,” Chris explained.
Paul stood in the place of Russell Wilson who hosted the Kids’ Choice Sports Awards for the past three years. “Russell did a great job for the past three years, so for me, it is just about making it my own,” Chris explained. “I am not coming in here saying I am trying to be Russell Wilson and outdo him, but the night is fun — it’s about the kids and celebrating the game.”
Chris did quite the remarkable job despite not being able to slime everyone he had in mind. “I wish I could slime my kids or my wife,” the star athlete said before the ceremony. “I think the coolest thing about the night is the Legend Award with the gold slime,” he added. “I got to see Michael Phelps get slimed a few years ago, and the same thing with Kobe.”
