Khloe Kares and Project I Am teamed up for a day of fun and information last Thursday (July 12). The nonprofits’ founders, Jahkil Jackson and Khloe Thompson, teamed up to bring their Coast 2 Coast campaign to the Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx.
Black Celebrity Kids moderated a panel discussion during the event that was every bit informative. Khloe and Jahkil sat on the panel as did guest speaker and actress Donshea Hopkins. There were also workshops that were both fun and educational.
Both Khloe Thompson and Jahkil Jackson have worked diligently to care for the impoverished for the past few years and continue to be trailblazers among their peers. Jahkil, 10, has done much to stress the importance of kindness in humanity. Khloe, 11, has also strived to spread awareness about poverty and mobilize youth to also become involved in their communities.
Khloe talked about the root of her desire to help those less fortunate than herself during a 2016 interview with Think Before You Type Media Group. “I would see the same homeless people every day on my way to school,” Miss Thompson shared. “So I started asking my mom why they were there or how they become homeless. And when she would tell me, it made me sad, and I wanted to do something to help.”
Khloe has done much to help since then. The 11-year-old has given free haircuts in the park in the Skid Row district of downtown Los Angeles. Khloe has also traveled to Ghana to help children receive fresh water.
“Don’t let your age stop you from doing what you want,” Khloe advised. “You can do anything at any age. And tell your parents about your ideas and get their support.”
