NEW SUPERHERO DOLL HOPES TO HELP BLACK GIRLS WITH DEPRESSION

According to the Mayo Clinic, depression is twice as likely to affect women as it does men. With her new superhero doll, artist Tiffany J has taken on the mission to help ensure that young black girls have help to combat depression.

“As a child, I was super shy, intimidated, and a lonesome personality. I suffered badly with depression and had thoughts of suicide multiple times as early as 12 years old,” Tiffany J shares on the brand’s website.

The plush Super Beauty doll will hopefully give young girls a friend to help them embrace their beauty while simultaneously promoting self-confidence. The doll, available August 2018, will come loaded with 20 positive catchphrases and affirmations, empowering owners who are mentally and emotionally affected by a myriad of triggers including bullying.

In addition to the doll, Tiffany J has published the first book in the Super Beauty Children’s Book Series entitled, Super Beauty Saves the Day. However, Tiffany J will not stop there. The talented artist also plans on creating a digital cartoon movie, bedroom décor, coloring books, and more in hops that Super Beauty can help stop young girls from becoming another statistic.
