Stranger Things has unquestionably become a cult phenomenon; therefore, it is no surprise that Stranger Things 2 has become bigger and better than the first season. And of course, it comes as no surprise that fans are already looking towards Stranger Things 3.
In addition to the characters that we have come love, there is a new face among the cast in Hawkins and her name is Priah Ferguson. Ferguson portrays Lucas Sinclair’s little sister, Erica Sinclair, who has officially won audiences over.
BCK caught up with the rising star and here are some of the things that the amazing young talent had to say.
When did you start acting?
I’ve always been very outgoing, loved dancing, and having conversations with anyone. People say I have an old-soul. My parents asked if I would be interested in performing arts because I had so much personality. Around age 5, I started acting in local theatre, plays, and dance. Audiences would always laugh and say my timing was really good. When I turned 7 or 8, I signed with an agent to do more auditions for tv, film, and commercials.
Why did you want to become an actress?
I would watch this movie called ‘Daddy’s Little Girls’ over and over when I was younger. I never saw girls who looked like me…showing so many different emotions in a movie. At first, I thought it was their real life. My parents explained how they were acting, and it was their job to tell stories but it’s not easy. After that, I was really inspired. I kept pointing to the tv saying “I really want to do that!” From there, I took acting classes and theatre just to get a feel, it was hard to find classes for my age. One director let me attend his tween class and I loved it! He encouraged my parents to keep bringing me back because I was good. I told my mom I didn’t want to do anything else. I just wanted to act and learn more about it…acting warms my heart and I enjoy stepping into other people’s shoes.
