David Otunga Jr. has rights that his lawyer wants to ensure in court. The youngster’s attorney is reportedly asking a judge to sign an order that prohibits his mom, Jennifer Hudson, or dad, Dabid Otunga Sr., from calling little David’s therapist in for testimony.
According to TMZ,
“Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga cannot use their son’s child therapist to make their custody case … at least that’s what the lawyer for the 8-year-old is demanding … TMZ has learned.
The lawyer the judge appointed to represent David Jr. has filed legal docs asking the judge to prohibit Jennifer or David from calling the therapist to the stand to testify about the boy’s state of mind and how the custody war has affected him.
We’re told the reason the lawyer wants the protective order is so David Jr. can feel comfortable opening up with his therapist about both parents, without fear they will learn what he said.”
News of Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga’s separation spread last year. It was reported in November that Jennifer gave her son’s father primary custody. Such report, however, was quickly corrected by Hudson’s sources. According to family friends familiar with the situation, Jennifer only agreed to lift the protective order so that little David could spend time with his father while she was away on business. Nothing regarding the custody matter had been determined.
David Otunga Jr. is Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga Sr.’s only child together. The celebrities were together for more than eight years before calling it quits last year.
