The year is 2045, and the place is Columbus, Ohio. Wade Watts is a kid growing up in absolute destitution with his only escape being the Oasis. Call it what you will, but the Oasis is a place where people from various backgrounds and economic standings come together to try things that they would never attempt in real life. This virtual reality is a saving grace for Wade, but the powers that be threaten to take it away. Of course, Watts isn’t going to let that happen; at least not without a fight.
