It seems that a legal dispute is in the making between Kelis and Nas. The celebrity father is reportedly taking his son’s famous mom to court in hopes of spending more time with his “mini me.”
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast,
“Nas says he has ‘tried to work cooperatively with Kelis over the years,’ but the ‘Milkshake’ rapper only ‘allows’ him to exercise his custody with their son ‘when she deems it convenient for her.’
He says Kelis chooses when she will allow him custody of the child, and then for months at a time will ‘refuse to set up time for our son and me to spend time together.'”
Nas would like to have a schedule in which he spends the first, third, and fifth weekend of every month with his son. He would also like a plan in which he gets to spend the odd years of holidays and summer breaks with his child while Kelis enjoys the even years with the youngster. Thanksgiving 2018, for example, would be spent with Kelis according to Nas’ proposed plan. The celebrity father would spend the holiday with his son the following year, which is an odd number.
Christmas is the one holiday that is up for grabs in Nas’ schedule for co-parenting. It is unclear whether the season will follow the odd and even number notion, though the celebrity father does make reference to winter break in his documents.
In either case, Nas hopes to spend more time with his son. Hopefully, he and Kelis can work things out sans court intervention.
