MARYLAND GIRL COLLECTS 500 CASES OF WATER FOR HURRICANE VICTIMS IN PUERTO RICO

Recent disasters nationwide and beyond have brought out the true altruistic spirit of children and adults alike. The most recent story of selflessness hails from Forestville, Maryland where Dashai Morton, for her 12th birthday decided to give instead of receive.

When asked what she wanted for her birthday, Morton simply said stated that she wanted to collect and donate 500 cases of bottled water to the Hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.

With the help of her grandmother, mother, and entire sixth grade class at North Forestville Elementary School, Morton was able to reach her goal. In addition to the water, she also collected non-perishable food items, blankets, baby formula and toiletries.

With up-and-coming young people like Morton, the world is definitely headed in the right direction.
