The long-running PBS television show, Sesame Street, has taken on many topics over the years, helping children adjust to a variety of relevant topics and situations that affect them in today's society. With the newest resident on Sesame Street, a monster named Rudy, the children's show is now shedding light on how blended families can work out for the good of all those involved.
Three-year-old Rudy, who premiered in the recent episode, "Hello, Rudy," is Abby Cadabby's new stepbrother.
"Families come in many forms-including newly-blended families, which can present unique challenges for kids," according to Seasame Street Workshop in a recent interview with Huffington Post. "As part of Sesame Street's kindness curriculum, kids will watch as Abby and Rudy meet for the first time, get to know each other, and overcome their differences to embrace their new sibling relationship."
