Angelina Jolie is going solo but she is far from alone. The celebrity mom tells Vanity Fair about her life as the mom of six kids sans estranged husband, Brad Pitt.
“It’s just been the hardest time, and we’re just kind of coming up for air,” she shares. “We’re all trying to do our best to heal our family.”
Brad and Angelina are focused on the common denominator that they share, which is the kids, while en route to wholeness. “We care for each other and care about our family, and we are both working towards the same goal,” Jolie says. As for the kids, “They’re six very strong-minded, thoughtful, worldly individuals. I’m very proud of them.”
News of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s plans for divorce began spreading a few months back. Brad was later accused of abusing one of the couple’s children but was later cleared of all charges.
“We’re all just healing from the events that led to the filing,” Angelina tells Vanity Fair. “They’re not healing from divorce,” she says of her kids. “They’re healing from some . . . from life, from things in life.”
In making sure that her kids heal, Jolie often suppresses her emotions in public. “I was very worried about my mother, growing up—a lot. I do not want my children to be worried about me,” she explains. “I think it’s very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them. They need to know that everything’s going to be all right even when you’re not sure it is.”
Jolie further reveals, “I’ve been trying for nine months to be really good at just being a homemaker and picking up dog poop and cleaning dishes and reading bedtime stories. And I’m getting better at all three. But now I need to get my boots on and go hang, take a trip.”
Where will Angelina Jolie and the kids go? We’ll have to hang tight to find out. Stay tuned for more celebrity baby news!
