SECOND TIME’S A CHARM! ALYSIA MONTANO RUNS WHILE PREGNANT AGAIN

Nothing will stop Alysia Montano from reaching her goals. The Olympian completed her 800-meter run at the USATF Outdoor Championships in California while five months pregnant this past weekend.

The temperature was well over 100 degrees but that didn’t stop Alysia from completing her race. This isn’t the first time that the Olympian has competed in the USATF Outdoor Championships while pregnant. Alysia also ran while expecting in 2014.

“I came here last time at 8 months pregnant in 2014 and it was such an amazing experience,” Montano said of racing while pregnant with her daughter, Linnea. “There is something about coming out to any venue not really expecting to win but going along with the journey and seeing what comes out of it,” she added of the 2014 experience.

Alysia took to Instagram to celebrate this past weekend’s accomplishment as well. “My mission as a mother, as a daughter, as a sister, as a friend, and as a human is to always fight for good and the empowerment of others,” she wrote online.

“I hope that one day my children can look at the world through a lens filled with kindness, compassion, hope, empowerment and purpose. I hope when my children think of me in their pursuits they might see me as an example of strength and not only think ‘Strong like Mom,’ but perhaps they may see their abilities and think ‘Stronger THAN Mom.'”

Alysia and her husband Louis Montano are expecting their second child to arrive in winter.
