The weekend was overwhelming in a good way for Fabolous. He and the family were guests of honor at a Brooklyn ceremony in the city’s Botanic Garden. Fab had his kids and the mother of his children, Emily Bustamante, by his side as he received a key to the city.

“Had the honor of being presented the Key To Brooklyn from Brooklyn Borough President @bpericadams today,” Fabolous told Instagram fans after the event. “At the same time, you are their connection to life,” he added. “So they have a genuine love for you that in those first beginning years of life, it’s nothing else that they even could think of that could match the love that they have for you. And I learned that from him. I learned what genuine love feels like.”

Fabolous’ oldest child, Johan, celebrated his ninth birthday in February. Jonas rang in his second birthday at the top of this month.
