Monica Brown and the kids came out to support Atlanta United this past weekend at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The R&B singer was dressed in support of the team and her daughter, Laiyah, was ready to perform.
“She’s already asking for the mic,” Monica told her Instagram fans. “Making Memories.”
Atlanta United squared off against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday. The soccer team fell short of gaining the victory with a final score of 1-2.
This past weekend’s game was certainly not drama-free as several fans shut down anti-gay chants coming from the stands. “We strive to foster a positive, enthusiastic and inclusive environment for all fans, and inappropriate chants have no place at our matches,” Atlanta United said in a team statement. “Atlanta United does not support or condone the use of offensive language. Fans found to be participating in this behavior will be subject to removal from the building.”
Still, even with the drama, Monica and the kids had fun. “Mr. Blanks, thank you for having me,” Monica said to Atlanta United’s owner via Instagram. “You can not love this amazing city and not have respect and admiration for you and your dedication to it!! Tonight was epic.”
Monica Brown is the proud mother of three children. Laiyah is the singer’s daughter with her husband, Shannon Brown. The singer’s sons, Romelo and Rodney Jr., are her children from a previous relationship.
