Jordan Peele is waiting with great anticipation for his and wife Chelsea Peretti’s little one to arrive. The Get Out director shares his excitement about parenthood with PEOPLE.
“We’re so excited, and it’s surreal and cool,” Peele says. “My wife is just a very beautiful and spectacular pregnant person.”
Jordan and Chelsea announced their expectancy days after Beyonce dropped the major bomb of her pregnancy. Chelsea did a hilarious piggyback off Bey’s media-altering revelation that fans thoroughly enjoyed.
“You want to get into the zone where you feel like, ‘Okay, now this is happening,’ and really it got to the point where hiding it really wasn’t an option,” Jordan says of his and Chelsea’s decision to share their pregnancy joy. “We’ve gotten such a warm reaction and people, I think correctly, are already observing that this child will be comedy gold.”
Jordan Peele certainly flexed his creative skills as director of the hit film, Get Out. The movie centers around a young African American man named Chris Washington who travels with his girlfriend, Rose Armitage, to meet her parents. Chris soon learns that something is eerily off as all of the African American residents of town appear hypnotized. The young adult must escape with his girlfriend if he ever hopes to return to a sense of normalcy.
Get Out received a Metascore of 83 and made history as the first film to receive a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes at its debut. Check out the movie’s trailer below!
