The Sundance Film Festival is in full swing and guess who was front and center on Tuesday to make sure that she had the opportunity to take it all in—18-year-old Malia Obama!
Just days after the former first daughter announced that she had gotten a coveted internship with famed film producer Harvey Weinstein, Obama was spotted at the event, taking in a screening of Beach Rats, a project that follows a teenage boy in NYC as he navigates the questions of self-identity. Obama has always expressed interest in movies, so it definitely makes sense that she is shadowing Weinstein and learning as much as she can about the business. We wouldn’t be surprised if we see her sometime in the future accepting an award for her own projects.
The Sundance Film Festival, a program of the Sundance Institute, will take place this year from January 19th to the 29th.
