MEL B, KIMORA LEE SIMMONS, AND CHRISTINA MILIAN JOIN DOVE’S #LOVEYOURHAIR CAMPAIGN

Dove is teaming up with celebrity moms to encourage women to embrace their hair. Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Mel B, Christina Milian, and Kimora Lee Simmons have partnered with the brand to spread the message of acceptance.

“I love my baby Madison’s hair because it’s wild and free just like her, with dark brown bouncy curls that are full of life,” Mel B shared along with a video collage on Instagram. “I want her to grow up feeling confident of her curls, so I tell her how beautiful her curly hair is every day! I’m thrilled to be working with @Dove to encourage mothers to share a #LoveYourHair selfie to pass along hair confidence to their daughters.”

Christina Milian also posted video of herself doing her daughter Violet’s hair. “My daughter Violet loves to wear her hair in her favorite style, cornrows and braids, and I personally love to see her love her hair,” she shared.

Kimora Lee Simmons and her daughters Aoki and Ming got in on the action as well. “I love Ming Lee and Aoki Lee’s hair because it’s so fabulous,” she exclaimed. “I’m proud to be working with Dove Hair to encourage mothers to share a #LoveYourHair selfie to pass along hair confidence to their daughters,” the celebrity mom wrote.

Dove has been hard at work with its #LoveYourHair campaign. The latest effort to inspire women to redefine the standards of beauty comes in the form of taking a selfie and sharing it online.

Studies show that eight in ten women feel pressured to style their hair in a way that impresses their peers. Those with natural curls especially feel pressured since the hair type has been deemed as socially unruly for years.
