THE WADE FAMILY GETS INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT

The Wades are back for another segment of #HowWeFamily sponsored by Tylenol. Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade and the kids, Zion and Zaire, share their joy in celebrating Christmas together.

“More than anything this year, our family feels incredibly grateful to be in Chicago,” Gabrielle says of the family’s new home. Dwyane swapped the Miami Heat for the Chicago Bulls earlier this year, which meant moving from the Magic City to Chi-town.

“I think we’re all moving closer to being the kind of people that we’ve always dreamed of being,” Union reveals. “Sometimes a new location helps move that along.”

The actress celebrates every element of her blended family throughout the year. Such is the reason why Gabrielle jumped onboard to support Tylenol in its efforts to showcase families that do not fit within the reigns of tradition.

“Every family and every incarnation should be celebrated,” Gabrielle says. During the holidays, “everyone has a seat at the table and everyone is welcome, and everyone is included, opinions and all.”

Getting everyone on one accord at the dinner table is challenging but not nearly as arduous as getting a teen and soon-to-be tween excited about Christmas decorations. “One year, I tried to get them to make homemade ornaments,” she says of her stepsons. “That lasted until there was a glitter fight.”

Regardless of the struggles, the Wades are bound to enjoy Christmas because of the love that the share. Dwyane Wade is the proud father of three children. The star athlete and his wife also parent his nephew together.
