Candace Parker and her daughter Lailaa are teaming up with Macy’s to spread holiday cheer. The celebrity mom and her little one recently recorded a video for the retailer’s Santa Project movement.
Candace and Lailaa are making goodies in the kitchen when the camera begins rolling. Lailaa tells viewers that she and her mom love Santa “so much.” In fact, the are making cookies in preparation for his arrival. “Lailaa and I LOVE Santa,” Candace tells Instagram fans. “We also enjoy baking treats for him and his reindeer.”
The Santa Project is part of Macy’s annual Believe campaign. Research shows that children are losing faith in Jolly Old Saint Nick. Macy’s plans to restore hope in the holiday figure by encouraging families to share positive affirmations of belief in Santa through photos, videos, and messages with the hashtag, #SantaProject.
“The story of Virginia O’Hanlon and the importance of believing have been the inspiration behind our iconic holiday campaign for the past eight years,” says Joe Feczko, senior vice president of brand marketing for Macy’s. “This season, we want to do everything we can to boost the spirit of Santa for future generations. When you look at the Internet right now, there is a lot of negativity out there. We’re asking people to come together this Christmas to flood the Internet with a groundswell of positivity that preserves belief for kids everywhere.”
Candace and Lailaa have certainly done their part in spreading positive vibes. More than 20,000 fans have given the mother-daughter Santa Project video a nod, and hundreds have commented on the clip. Lailaa is Candace Parker’s only child with estranged husband Shelden Williams.
