JENNIFER HUDSON HONORED AT MARCH OF DIMES ‘CELEBRATION OF BABIES’ EVENT

Jennifer Hudson was one of several honored at the March of Dimes “Celebration of Babies” event this past weekend. The luncheon was held in Beverly Hills, and Jennifer had her fiance and son supporting her at the celebration.

Hudson wore a dress that hugged her curves while her fiance, David Otunga Sr., wore black. The couple’s son, David Jr., placed an arm around his mom’s waist while taking pictures in the spotlight. Little David was quite fashionable as he wore a red shirt with black slacks and leather jacket.

The “Celebration of Babies” is an event that sheds light on the rising premature birth rates in the United States. Studies show that preterm births affect 15 million babies every year and take an incredible toll on the mother’s emotional well-being as she waits in the balance to learn the fate of her child. March of Dimes strives to prevent premature births, defects in newborns, and infant mortality by raising funds and spreading awareness.

Jennifer Hudson was among two others honored at this year’s Celebration of Babies luncheon. “It’s such an honor to be recognized with the March of Dimes Grace Kelly Award,” she said in a press release. “I’ve been privileged to have gone through a healthy pregnancy with my son, but I know it’s not like that for everyone. Having healthy and happy babies is every mother’s wish. But in the United States, premature birth is the number one cause of death of babies. I’m proud to support March of Dimes in their ongoing commitment to healthy pregnancies and families, striving for a world where every baby has a fair chance.”

Jennifer Hudson became a mom on August 10, 2009 when her son was born. David Jr. celebrated his seventh birthday with an ice cream truck and dance party this year.
